Aftercare
Eyelash Extension Aftercare:
- Do not get lashes wet for the first 24 hours after every appointment
- When using any eye/face products, make sure they are oil free
- NO mascara or eyelash curlers
- Carefully cleanse lashes every few days, using a q-tip and a gentle soap/cleanser
- Be careful to avoid pulling on extensions/rubbing eyes
- Gently brush through lashes daily with the mascara wands given
- NO tanning in any UV beds within 24 hours of a lash appointment
- Be careful near ovens/grills or when smoking – fire/heat will singe the lashes
- To extend/maintain the life of your lashes, a lash fill is recommended every 2-3 weeks
Lash Lift Aftercare:
- Avoid getting lashes wet for 24 hours
- Avoid sleeping on your tummy, side, arm, hand, or side of pillow for 24 hours
- Condition the lashes nightly with an oil (like castor) and use a clean spoolie to brush though
- Maintenance appointments every 6-8 weeks
Hair Extension Aftercare:
- Wash with sulfate free shampoo and conditioner, avoid excess tugging and pulling to avoid unnecessary stress on the extensions
- Brush your hair gently a few times a day to prevent tangles. Start from the ends and work your way up to the roots. Holding the roots will minimize tension on the bonds
- Avoid excess heat on the extensions, always applying a heat protectant and using hot tools on a low setting
- Avoid tight hairstyles that pull or put excess tension on extensions
- Braid or loosely tie your hair before bed to prevent tangling and friction. A bonnet or satin scarf is always recommended. Never go to bed with wet extensions.
- Chlorine and Saltwater can damage the hair, so shampoo & condition your extensions thoroughly after swimming.
- Schedule appointments with your stylist every 4-8 weeks to maintain the integrity of your extensions, but more importantly your hair.
Microblading Aftercare:
Day One (Day of Treatment): Wait 1-2 hours and let the wounds weep lymph. After 2 hours you must wipe off the lymph with a moistened cotton pad, then apply a thin layer of Aquaphor with a cotton swab. Do this every hour on the hour until bed.
At night wash the treated area with warm water and mild soap like Cetaphil. Wash your hands with a disinfectant soap before washing your eyebrows and/or applying the post-care cream.
NOTE: Too much Aquaphor will cause the pigment to scab. Aquaphor is available in the skin care section if any drug store.
Day Two – Nine: Repeat the wiping of the brows at least 2 times a day. At night wash the treated area with warm water and mild soap like Cetaphil. Wash your hands with a disinfectant soap before washing your eyebrows and/or applying the post-care cream.
The following MUST BE AVOIDED during all nine days post-Microblading procedure:
- Sweating. It is recommended not to sweat for the first 10 days after the procedure. Sweat is salt and can prematurely fade the treated area.
- Practicing sports
- Swimming
- Hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi
- Sun tanning or salon tanning. Absolutely No Sun, sweating,or tanning prior to the procedure or after the procedure for 2 weeks. Do not have a tan/sunburn on your face prior to your procedure. The tan will exfoliate, taking color with it as it fades.
- Any laser or chemical treatments or peeling, and/or creams containing Retain-A or Glycolic Acid on the face or neck.
- Picking, peeling, or scratching of the micro pigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment.
- Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris
- Spicy foods
- Smoking
- Drinking alcohol in excess, as in may less to slow healing of wounds
- Driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles
- Touching of the eyebrow area except for when rinsing and applying the post-care cream with a cotton swab
